What should the ideal diet of children be made of? What foods should they eat per day and in what proportion? He has spoken with the child nutrition expert Lucía Bultó to find out how much carbohydrates, fats and proteins the children's daily menu should contain and in which foods we find them. This is the nutritional pyramid in childhood.

To grow and develop correctly, children must follow the nutritional parameters established by the nutritional pyramid, which is based on the fact that each meal must have these characteristics:

- Base of the pyramid. Half of the calories should come in the form of carbohydrates: bread, pasta, potato, rice or cereals. They are between 4 and 6 servings a day.

- Second level of the pyramid. Fruits and vegetables should be consumed daily. About 3 servings of fruit and 2 of vegetables.

- Third level of the pyramid. Between 12 and 15% should be protein foods: meat, fish, eggs or legumes. They are between 3 and 4 servings a week.

- Vertex of the pyramid. Around 25 and 35% must be fat: that goes in the fat that the meat carries, the oil with which we season or nuts. The sweets or sausage is only recommended to consume occasionally.

In any case, each child, depending on their needs, can move these proportions, since not in all stages of growth or at all times of life do they have the same appetite. The pediatrician is the most recommended person to refine these percentages.
